Assignment

  1. Construct spreadsheet as specified in the schematic of the optimization and utilize it to optimize the system based on the following constraints. The objective shall be to minimize ESM.
  2. How does the system configuration change based upon the variation of these constraints? (ie. Which crops are selected by the program? Which nutrients must be resupplied?
  3. The baseline system in Scenario #0 shall only be constrained by crew nutritional requirements.
  4. All subsequent analyses shall add constraints to the baseline system.
  5. After completing the 3 scenarios think of other things that might be interesting to test and analyze them too. Beware, some of these violate linearity...but Excel can handle (some) non-linear problems...so just ask us how.
